Become a Mentor.
To become a MassHive mentor, you must:
• Be 16 to 22 years old
• Identify as someone who is passionate about supporting and empowering middle school girls
• Commit to attending mentor training and regular check-ins
• Be able to maintain healthy boundaries and uphold MassHive’s values of inclusion, safety, and respect
• Pass a basic background check (for those 18+)
As a MassHive mentor, you will:
• Build a consistent, supportive relationship with one or more mentees
• Attend monthly group sessions and community events (virtual or in person)
• Participate in mentor development training sessions
• Help foster a sense of belonging, confidence, and creativity in your mentees
• Communicate regularly with program staff and fellow mentors
• Uphold MassHive’s mission of creating a safe and empowering space for all girls
By joining the Hive as a mentor, you’ll gain:
• Leadership experience and resume-building skills
• Access to training in youth mentorship, mental wellness, and communication
• A supportive network of peers and mentors-in-training
• Community service hours and potential letters of recommendation
